CAPULET D3o POINTE SHOES

March 21st, 2009

Turning pointe for ballet shoes

The most radical redesign of the ballet pointe shoe in over 350 years is set to transform the health and fitness of ballerinas… and the fortunes of London manufacturer Capulet World.

The new shoe was launched by Capulet World founder Michael Thoraval at the MOVE IT dance exhibition that was held in London in March. The revolutionary new pointe shoe combines his traditional manufacturing expertise and design with the latest intelligent polymer materials to produce a true innovation for the ballet world.

Prototypes of the shoe have already been tested by dancers at the Royal Ballet and the reaction has been extremely positive. The shoe is now entering full production to supply intense international demand. Michael said: ‘Current pointe shoes are manufactured from hessian, paper and paste to a design which goes back to 1650. These are notoriously uncomfortable and frequently cause long-lasting damage to dancers.’

MEASURE YOUR SHOE SIZE

March 10th, 2009

The following table gives you a guide to buying dance shoes on line.  The foot measurement in cm is the length of the foot (this is also the Japanese system).  This is particularly useful for children’s feet, where we find that some very popular brands of street shoes are sized differently.  The size guidance we offer is based on a standard uk size, as outlined below.

So if you buy online and you aren’t sure of the size required, measure the feet first and work out the standard UK size and then follow our guidance on the conversion for each item:

We warn you that dance shoe sizes in particular are completely dependant on the manufacturer, so don’t rely on stated US or UK sizes.

WELCOME TO INDIGO AND INDIGO RED

February 6th, 2009

Welcome to Indigo, the home of dance, skate, gymnastics, costumes and party/dressing up clothing and accessories.

We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service, both in our retail shop and via the web, and offer all major brands at competitive prices. Black Bloch sneakers, for example, are a major seller in our shop, so we can reliably send appropriate sizes via our website, provided we are given accurate UK sizes upon ordering. This applies to all other brands, such as Capezio tap shoes, Roch Valley ballroom shoes or Sansha sneakers.

It’s hard to believe our retail shop has been open for two years on February 17th! This has grown steadily over that time and now our ebay shop is also developing well.

Now the time is right to celebrate our second Birthday by expanding our website. Included in this expansion is the birth of Indigo Red, our discount store offering huge reductions on all the major brand named products, including Grishko, Roch Valley, Capezio, Agiva, Sansha, Katz, Jenetex, Smiffy’s and Bloch….There are sneakers, ballet shoes, pointe shoes, jazz shoes, jazz boots, tap shoes, greek sandals, ballroom shoes, dance examination uniform, leotards and jazz pants in lycra, cotton lycra, or meryl, T-shirts, Vest tops, mmm, the list is as long as you need it to be. All for Ladies, Men, girls or boys. We cater for Adults and children, whatever they request we’ll do our absolute best. Along with access to cheap dance items, for example, you also can be reassured by our usual Indigo quality of service.

Indigo Red is our opportunity to say a big Thank You to all of our existing customers, and also to develop many new customer relationships, giving them the chance to experience all that is great about Indigo. You can order from Indigo website and receive i.e. Capezio tele-tone taps within two working days, subject to availability. Alternatively, you can order from Indigo Red if you can wait a little longer for your sneakers etc, or if you have a bulk order of maybe 4 pairs of jazz pants and 4 cropped tops, for example, and receive at least 25% and maybe up to 30% discount. That’s the choice.

Both owners of Indigo are active in our retail shop and are passionate  about quality of service. This is especially so when we fit pointe shoes. We care about people and their feet, and will never rush the fitting process. This process does not stop as the customer leaves the shop. If the shoes have been fitted in our retail shop we encourage the dancer to try their pointe shoes at home, and with their teacher, to ensure the fit is the best for them. Only when both dancer and teacher are happy are we happy.

Thanks for your time. We look forward to helping you choose the right item for you.

Spread the word, Indigo is expanding , Indigo Red is here, with quality service and the prices are great!
